Knot tying tips

• Tying knots using light line is harder and potentially more hazardous than tying knots with heavy line.
• With light line, tie the knot by doubling the line. Give it as much strength as possible.
• The tag should be as large as possible when using a light line.
• Heavy line needs care when twisting. Generally the rule is the thicker the line the fewer the twists.
• Be prepared to modify your final knot with heavier line so as to guarantee its reliability.
• With all knot tying, learn to be flexible. You will often need both your hands and your feet and elbows may well be called into action as well. Have fun!
